December Story 31: December 2020 Conversations with our Baby Girls

 04/12/2020

Conversation with Kirra at 4 years old:

Mumma: Kirra (aged 4) go to sleep. You need to go to sleep and be so Santa comes.

Kirra: Santa isn’t real.

Mumma: Who said that?

Kirra: “Well, the presents and stuff happens. And Muma, you don’t have to say in a loud voice (aka shout) ‘Go to Sleep’ and you need to cut that stuff out. No more swearing.” (by that they mean that ‘heck’ and bloody is a swear word and they also find that my tone is particularly offensive). Kirra’s point is that I don’t need to reminder her that she needs to be good for Santa to come. She gets it already.

She is four!

Conversation with Kaiya at 6 years old:

This year Kaiya (aged 6) also had a similar conversation saying that “The Santa’s we meet aren’t really Santa’s, they are just people dressed up” and “We do the presents for people, and all the music and stuff like that. There is still Christmas morning, and food.” She is still a believer and thought the disappearing cookies and drinks on Christmas eve is proof, but yes, the facts are not lost on her.

She is six!

They are so smart.

And this is how our baby girls think and talk about Christmas in 2020.

Thank you for the stories baby girls.

Thank-you for the love.

Thankyou for making life so much fun!
