Carpe Diem! Seize the Day
A long time ago I watched a film
about an English teacher who awoke his students by teaching them a phrase, Carpe
Diem, meaning Seize the Day! The film was Dead Poets Society (1989) and it was
about young people making a choice about how they would spend their life. I
would have been in my early to mid teens, and this phrase really stuck with me.
I do think that it is an impressionable age, and inspiration in your teens is
not in itself extraordinary. What is significant is that every time I say it to
myself, it leads me to doing something brave. My choice is to Seize the Day!
What is yours?
