Hello to Christmas 2022

The Abbott-Jard’s are back again to celebrate the silly season. It’s beautiful, happy, busy and post the COVID pandemic fog that we have been in for the last couple of years. We are in a different time now too with climate action and it’s a beautiful thing.

One note about our little family unit is that we fly solo in Brisbane at Christmas, so we thought we might try something different. We will catch up with family after Christmas but Michael decided to go overseas again, and I said yeah sure. So. Hello Japan!

We have had two Christmases in London which were not very spectacular at the time. So we’ll see how we go with having a Christmas Day in Tokyo! The girls are also on notice that they are getting a holiday instead of presents. They have been told that Santa knows we will be there but he has been told that we can’t carry lots of toys. Seriously these girls do not need more toys.

So there you have it. Our plans for this Christmas. May it be about the experience and not the stuff. May it be about the magic! May it be about important things like travel to get a glimpse into other peoples’ stories so we feel more connected on this planet. May it be about seeing things fr4om such a different perspective that it teaches us to differently it encourages us to be critical, creative and compassionate thinkers.

Without further ado…..Welcome to this documentation project for 2022 where we try and record 31 stories in the Christmas Season.  This year I’m on the lookout for some magical experiences for the girls, and even though we have some ‘traditions’ we will be experiencing them from a different perspective.
