Christmas 2022 Story 3: Christmas Lights 03/12/2022

I usually wait until the end of the season to tell stories about our adventures at night looking for Christmas Lights but for three reasons, I’ll tell it today. Firstly, because this is a very different season with most of the month and Christmas Day to be spent in Japan, and secondly because tonight just happened the third story on the third day, and because I usually wait for a collective selection of the best photos to show in the lead up to Christmas. We try to get three or four nights where we have had dinner early, get into the car and just drive to a new neighbourhood to see the amazing people who turn work hard to bring joy to all the little kids and big kids alike. Thank-you so very much to this amazing community. I want to remember that as we pulled up to the first house Kirra Isla absolutely screamed and squealed in pure delight. Like she was at a rock concert. Thank goodness she was still in the car. There was a lot of people who were outside still tinkering away trying to get the last of their lights up and all the finishing touches done. There were people who had finished their work and bought their camping chairs out on the lawn with a beer in hand, waiting for their neighbours in the street to join them and launch the festive season with music and visitors to the neighbourhood. It was really special and the girls loved it so very much.
