December 2021 Story 16: Treats and Traditions

This year we took the hot chocolates to a whole new level. Hot tip, peppermint candy canes are really good with Chocolate. The Krispy Kreme donuts were as cute as ever. We were a bit keen to get the Christmas party started and there may have been a couple of visits to 7-11 that did not yield donuts because we were a week or two too early for their release. We got there in the end. The whole month leading up to Christmas was an excuse for a party and eating excessive amounts of sugar. The cool things is that the girls show some restraint. I’m glad the party season is over though. One tradition we didn’t get to was a Christmas drink at Starbucks. There are fewer of them now with COVID changing how people consume, hang out and even thought we still have them in Brisbane, trips to the City or large shopping centers that still have a Starbucks was not a priority in such a crazy season. We still appreciate the fact that Starbucks coffee is the same everywhere in the world and it has been crazy awesome to stop into a Starbucks when we have been in countries that don’t quite follow the Australian coffee protocol.
