December 2021 Story 12: Wynnum Lights
The weather has been such a wonderful
temperature. The cool nights have meant more energy to do things in the
evenings. The season has also come with significantly more rain. So much rain
that many nights this month the Christmas Lights at people houses has been turned
off or it’s been too wet to venture out. Here in Wynnum, we have only had a few
houses decorating but it has been so cool to go out at nighttime and check on a
couple of decorated houses here and there. The neighbourhoods must notice the
extra traffic, because at nighttime these streets are normally very quiet, but
during the season there is a little stream of cars driving around in the very
early evening checking out the lights. It’s a busy time for families with
little ones and the goal is to get them showered, fed, and in their pajamas so
we can jump in the car and catch a little bit of Christmas Light magic. It can also be a time when the little ones are
at their most tired so sometimes a little delirium can kick in too. Here are
some photos of the lights in our little suburb.
