December Story 12: Saturday and Sunday 12-13/12/2020 A very Christmassy Weekend

The Saturday and Sunday were gifts. There was cold, wet, windy, costal Queensland weather, storms, and baking. There was also lots of Christmas music and movies. For us, it was cold so we wore jumpers, had blankets on the couch, and stayed inside. When the sillies hit us in the afternoon there was a quick jump on the trampoline to get them out! The Gingerbread latte syrup was spicing up coffees and the gingerbread cookie dough had been resting so it was time to cook them and decorate. We have enjoyed the variation of weather, I’m not sure if it being coastal or just due to global warming. Either way it does make life interesting. We took some shortcuts with the icing for the cookies and used the premade tubes. Cutting down in the sugar in the cookie recipe and upping the spice factor is also good. There was also hot chocolate, marshmallows, too much sugar, and coffee, always coffee. The Christmas films we watched was Last Christmas, the animated Grinch (which was the favourite for this year), and the Christmas themed shows on Stan, Amazon, and ABC for Kids.  We are missing the Christmas parties at Daycare and school and haven’t been able to attend any school events such as discos this year due to COVID but we are also making the most of days at home, and are very grateful to be in a larger house for our second Christmas in the Quandamooka / Wynnum white house (named Eungella).
