30/06/2014 Let's talk food! We couldn't wait!

Hello,

Muma here....

Well umm, we couldn't wait.  Kaiya had her first solids yesterday (29/06/2014, my Mum Linda, aka Nanma's Birthday).  After watching me devour a BBQ meat snack that would make an South American blush we finally gave in to this cute little girl and gave her some pumpkin and pear for her first dinner.  There were four courses, pumpkin, pear, boobie, bottle, followed by another bottle.  Did we mention that Kaiya is a very hungry girl at the best of times. I often will have my meal while breatfeeding Kaiya and lately she has been stopping her drink to follow the food going in to my mouth and opening and closing her mouth in unison.  Her amazing and longing little eyes are saying Muma please feed me!

There are two pictures, the first, where Kaiya, Godmother Di, Michael and Nan are trying Kaiya out with some fruit juice and a second of Kaiya's first meal.

We celebrated Kaiya's first meal yesterday but the flavour sensation slowed Kaiya down a little. We (Michael, Rina, Kaiya and Nan) were in a session with Aunty Lyn on Skype.   After the evening dinner I gave her some more pear and she swallowed three tiny bubba sized portions.  Michael is particularly happy because as you all know he loves cooking for the people he loves. When Michael cooks for you he is sincerely saying je t'aime! Even though it was only boiling and mashing pumpkin and pear he said it felt really good.

Love to all,

Muma,
